This was the best couples night out experience I had in NYC. My boyfriend and I always wanted to see a burlesque show and this was the second time we've been to the cabaret show in New York. The food was delicious and we loved every aspect of the experience. Everyone was super friendly and I could not have asked for more. Highly recommend

Now THIS was the definition of a small, intimate comedy theater. The Vino was our landing spot to see Dylan Adler and his comedy set a few months ago and we had a great time. I didn't realize how small and intimate-feeling the theater would be but it works to really witness talent on stage without paying high prices. Seating was cozy and the stage crew did a great job amplifying the performance. The theater itself seemed a bit older than usual and could use some work, particularly the bathroom and perhaps offering some sort of drinks for sale. I know they advertised as BYOB but sometimes a guy forgets when they're getting off the train in Brooklyn and staring at their maps app to find the spot.

Such a gem! Love this theater, went the first time to see The Counter and it was such a great play, so well produced. The quality of the show was top notch. The staff there were so professional and accommodating (sometimes a difficult balance to hold). It was sincerely an incredible theatre experience. I will look to see whatever show they have here to come see.

I have seen so many shows there, both put on by the theater company itself as well as outside production companies, and it's been amazing. There is such good theatre there! On Sundays they have a regular reading series that's free to the public as well as periodic 3-Day readings that are free. Once a year they have a Shakespeare festival (on the Bard's bday week) of scenes and sonnets that is wonderful. The space itself is great and handicap accessible.

What a discovery for us, both as music lovers and healthy but fun foodies. Five Spot Jazz offers a great space for live music, especially jazz. The setting is very well designed, efficient yet elegant, and intimate with a great view of the stage. The cover charge for music is $20, next to nothing relative to the quality of music that is offered. The food is excellent, mostly Japanese inspired, with a great sense of flavors and variety. Really a gem in East Village. Highly recommended!

I had an amazing time at this comedy show in New York City. The lineup was diverse and every comedian brought a different style, which kept the energy fresh the entire night. The jokes landed consistently, and the crowd interaction made it feel really personal and engaging. The venue itself was great too. It had that classic NYC comedy vibe, intimate but lively, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Drinks were reasonably priced for the city, and everything ran on time. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and definitely worth the night out. If you're looking for a good laugh in NYC, this is a spot I'd highly recommend.

I've been here over a dozen times now and I can confidently say it's my favorite place in the city to see a show. Great sound systems, amazing lighting, constantly booking the best local and headlining acts, & plentiful free water stations all make for a great experience. Sometimes the main hall can get scarily overcrowded for headlining artists, but from my experiences it frees up around 2-3 when people start leaving and then it becomes much more bearable.

One of the workers was talking about "making money" while harassing families of graduates. At one point a father asked the staff member to move to take a photo of his daughter and this man said "you don't even speak English and you trynna be rude." Not to mention, the venue was extremely cold. Elderly attendees were standing indoors without blocking foot traffic and staff members giggled as they forced them back outside. I have never seen a graduation where staff felt the need to insert themselves so forcefully in all aspects of the event. Lastly, I witnessed Asian and Hispanic attendees treated much worse than other races. The staff were picking and choosing who to enforce the rules on.

To whom it may concern. On Saturday June 6th 2026 at around 245-250pm. I entered the lag permorning center entrance and as I approached the security desk I asked the older guard was there an elevator to go to the main theater, before she can respond Officer Castillo (black woken with 2 cornrows or twist going back and reading glasses) responded to me and so absolutely not you have to take the stairs. So I didn't think anything about it until I walked passed and turnt around and I seen that Officer Castillo was talkin about me like a dog and the older women was laughing. This is beyond distasteful, this is a well known college that holds many events to be talked about and laughed at behind my back was pretty hurtful due to the fact I was not feeling to good and felt nauseous and didn't not want to jump my stomach by taking the stairs. I understand that there are rules and maybe visitor are not allowed to used the elevator but to talk trash behind my back and to laugh is just disgusting. I too am a guard so I know for a fact this is unacceptable and needs to be dealt with and a professional manner. I attended this school for my son graduation and other events, event the other guard the black man with the bald head was pretty nice and understanding. I don't know what it is with females but we need to stop this and get along. Why talk about me and laugh I did nothing but ask a question. And even when she answered she was digging in her bag and didn't even look up to speak to me in a professional manner. Just sad very very sad! Shame on you Officer Castillo.

Absolutely loved this place. We drove down from Boston to see an artist we've loved for years, and Baby's All Right made the whole night feel special. The venue has a really cool, low-key atmosphere -- kind of an old-school 80s lounge feel, lots of hardwood, great character, and a very relaxed Brooklyn vibe. We went as a group of four and had an amazing time. The lineup of comedians was excellent, and the overall atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect from a true New York-style comedy night. The staff was really courteous, and the selection of cocktails and drinks was great. A couple of things to keep in mind: there's a two-drink minimum, phones are not allowed during the show, and booking well in advance is essential. Also, arriving early to queue can get you better seats closer to the stage--but be ready, that also means a higher chance of being part of the roasting Highly recommended if you're looking for a fun and different night out!

I never understood seeing a play on Broadway until today. The details of the sets and the special effects were breathtaking. The acting especially Malfoy 's son was amazing. Well worth the money and memories with my boys were made for a lifetime. The amount of energy and brain power that went into the production is unmatched and it felt good to support the arts today and show my boys what that means. My Jack and I have always been big HP fans, the play just added to that magic, but for my other two boys who never watch the movies with us or the read the books they were equally memorized by the play.

It's a small theater, and I don't think I would've seen it if I didn't know the address to look for it at! But it's got a really cozy feel to it, and they're kind enough to have a free water dispenser at the bar. Bathrooms are very nice, clean, and beautifully done. The seats are arranged in such a way that no one obstructs your view, and since it's a small theater, no matter where you go you should have an amazing view of the stage. I saw one of the best plays of my life there (Let's Talk About Anything Else) and was blown away by the talent of the actors, the way they laid out the scenes, and the way that they unfolded the storyline. I will 100% be monitoring for new plays that are going to be performed here, it's such a gem! And the prices are ridiculously good too.

Times Square, Manhattan · 146 reviews

Practice unfolds as a play about making, but what it really studies is being watched while becoming. From the moment the space closes in--sealed by reflective surfaces and bathed in an unrelenting red glow--the room feels less like a rehearsal hall than a site of exposure. This is not the comfort of process; it is the intimacy of risk. The production understands queerness not as declaration but as condition. Bodies are doubled, refracted, multiplied. No gesture stays singular. The mirrored architecture insists that desire, doubt, and ambition circulate rather than settle. In this space, to practice is to repeat under observation, to learn oneself through others' gazes, to realize that even preparation is already performance. What struck me most was how the ensemble handles interruption. Conversations overlap, derail, resume elsewhere. Humor arrives sideways, often just as a defense mechanism falters. This rhythm feels deeply queer: a refusal of clean arcs, a mistrust of mastery, an insistence that process is messy because relations are messy. The play listens closely to the small violences of collaboration--the subtle hierarchies, the soft coercions masked as care--and it does so without offering easy villains. Practice keeps circling the politics of labor in artistic spaces, especially the question of who gets to be held and who must keep holding. There is something achingly familiar here for anyone who has worked in institutions while loving the work: the way "commitment" becomes endurance, the way passion is asked to absorb harm. Queerness surfaces in the gaps--moments of hesitation, glances that linger too long, pauses where something unsayable hovers. By the time the cast gathers at curtain call, the exposure feels cumulative rather than resolved. We are left not with catharsis but with recognition: that practice is not neutral, that rehearsal trains us in certain ways of relating, and that showing up--again and again--can be both an act of devotion and a site of vulnerability. Practice doesn't ask to be applauded for its answers. Instead, it stays with the trouble of process, asking what it means to keep practicing care, ethics, and presence when the room is lit, the walls reflect back, and nothing remains unseen.

I had a wonderful experience here. Located in the Yotel hotel, a modern hotel. The location is a tad bit of a walk from 42nd st port authority, just a few avenues down which isn't bad unless it's winter time . The show itself was great. A friend invited me to the holiday/Christmas show in which a range of singers performed. The ambiance is nice, I like the seating. Just found it odd that some people say alone; whereas, others were randomly placed with another party at the same table (my friend and I included). Only downside is that the drinks are expensive, ranging from 18-24 for a cocktail. However, they are crafted nicely. I had the white Negroni which I enjoyed as well as another drink, can't remember the name but it was tropical. I love that you can order and pay with your phone at anytime during the show. The food looked great but I didn't have an appetite. I definitely recommend this venue.

TO all responsible for this project Open Message to All Actors, Directors, and Writers I've been attending this theater's short play events over the past few weeks, and while I truly admire the creativity, talent, and dedication of everyone involved, what I witnessed during the finals last night left me deeply disappointed. The outcome of the competition was not based on artistic merit, but rather on how many friends and family members each participant brought to vote for them. This system completely undermines the professionalism and effort of the actors, directors, and writers who put their hearts into their work. One of the organizers even joked before the voting began, revealing how predictable the results were -- determined more by popularity than by talent or quality. How unfair and discouraging for those who truly care about the craft! I urge the management of this venue to reconsider this flawed voting system. It seems designed to fill seats and generate income rather than to celebrate and reward genuine artistry. With a fair judging panel composed of experienced professionals, this place could become a real gem -- a respected platform where artistic work is recognized for its true value. To all artists: Do not waste your time, energy, and talent here unless this system changes -- or unless you plan to bring as many friends as possible just to secure votes. Your work deserves to be evaluated by professionals, not by personal connections. To the organizers: You have a great idea and a wonderful opportunity to support the arts -- please don't ruin it with an unfair process. Give true value to the actors, writers, and directors who bring this project to life. Let's make this space one that truly honors creativity, fairness, and professionalism.

I've been to a lot of venues in New York City and Irving Plaza is easily one of the best. The entire venue is incredibly clean and well maintained from the floor to the bars to the bathrooms, which honestly says a lot for a busy NYC concert venue. The bathrooms were actually spotless every time I went in, which almost never happens at shows. The setup inside is awesome too. Having multiple levels and several bars makes it easy to move around, grab a drink, and still have a great view of the stage. The stage itself is surprisingly big for New York City and gives every show a much larger feel without losing that intimate concert atmosphere. The sound system was phenomenal. Everything sounded crystal clear with no distortion at all, no matter where you stood. On top of that, every staff member I interacted with was genuinely friendly and helpful. Great venue all around and definitely one I'll keep coming back to.

New York Comedy Club was a really enjoyable experience and ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. I went twice during my stay, and both shows were great, which says a lot about the consistency of the lineup. The comedians were sharp, confident, and genuinely funny, with a good mix of styles and topics. Even when I didn't recognize the names on the bill, the quality of the performances was strong from start to finish, and the energy in the room made the whole experience feel intimate and engaging. The venue itself is well set up for comedy. The room is cozy without feeling cramped, and the sound and sightlines were good from where I was seated. The crowd was lively but respectful, which really helped the comedians build momentum and interact naturally with the audience. Staff were friendly and efficient, keeping things moving smoothly without being disruptive during the show. One thing to be aware of is the $20 minimum spend per person. While this is pretty standard for comedy clubs in New York, it's still worth noting so there are no surprises. The drinks and snacks were decent, though a little on the pricey side, which again feels typical for the city and the setting.

This is my fist time going to a venue at this location.Im a wheelchair user. I went with my friend to see a watch party soccer game. Started ok , we were placed on a small area on the second floor. As the venue started getting busier with were told to move but moving became chaotic. there was no room whatsoever to move . Security tried their best , again we were located on the 1st floor , but guess what no access to bathrooms. I just decided to leave the venue because I felt unsafe and the communications between the event coordinator and owners was not on point. Even if I had purchased table service there was no way I was getting anywhere. So left the venue and spent my money at Sala Astoria 2 blocks away. for able body people I guess is ok if u like to be crushed together, because my friend could not even get to the bar and she could walk. Never again will go to this place. Bad logistis for disabled folks or elderly.

I genuinely hate rating places poorly, but I think this needs to be shared. This show bait and switched a famous headliner, significantly overcharged for drinks while instituting a hidden two drink minimum (mandatory 20% tip totaling over $60 for 2 beers 2 mixed), and had comics that were mainly workshopping unfinished material for a paid show. It's unfortunate because I think quite a few of the comedians were quite funny, and there's clearly a decent degree of care put into things. It just left a bad taste after paying for a show, commuting all that way, and having the headliner Daniela Mora not being there not acknowledged at all. Wish I could rate higher as the staff and comedians seemed nice, but unfortunately we won't be going back.
