I had an amazing experience at tonight's performance of Sweet Blood. The set, the cast, the story were so very intoxicating. I didn't know what to expect with it being a period piece but loved the story of sisterly bonds and the unique experience women across the ages undergo in male centered world. The Director Amin is awesome! His vibe and the enthusiasm he brings is what is needed in our community. Prior to his arrival I had never thought of Jack as a space for me or the neighborhood's old timers. The welcoming atmosphere and the inclusivity that he embodies is refreshing. The Arts should be accessible to all and I love that I can find it so close to home!

It's a church that apparently has some metal shows occasionally. Things didn't exactly go well with the show I saw. Started late, and the last band (Oldest Sea) didn't have the time they should have, which was a shame. Sound was a little messym reminiscent of the shows of my youth, but the bands were older. No alcohol in the venue, and shows end promptly at 10. With better organization from the bands, this is a cool place to see a show.

Harlem, Manhattan · 402 reviews

Visiting Bill's Place in Harlem was one of the absolute highlights of my trip. The moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed with warmth and charm by the wonderful hostess, whose kindness and enthusiasm set the tone for the entire evening. The atmosphere feels intimate, authentic, and full of history. Bill Saxton himself is an incredible bandleader-his talent, energy, and connection with both the music and the audience create an unforgettable experience. The performance was powerful, soulful, and deeply rooted in Harlem's jazz tradition. You don't just listen to the music here-you feel it. Bill's Place is a rare gem where genuine hospitality meets top-tier jazz. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special night in New York. Greetings from Czech Republic <3

Marvelous spot for live music, with obviously epic interior calling back to the 1932 art deco roots. Magisterial interior and cosmic atmosphere. Layers of stairs with cool turns and windows for noisy people watching. Worth exploring beforehand. Well-run concession lines with Manhattan price points you expect to pay. Longer artist merchandise lines that moved much slower (the guy in front of me went shopping during the show much quicker). Kind and practice staff directing you everywhere. Solid security and everyone from inside to out was welcoming and cheerful. Show acoustics matched the vintage starship venue. Made to make strong memories. Totally insane bathroom crush at intermission that somehow worked out. But be ready to pop. Reasonable crowd for my show (Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra). Older and mostly couples and friend groups (isn't that always the case?). Zero solo travelers like myself that I could identify. A theater that every other theater seems to echo, but Radio City had the scale and odd details and just enough idiosyncratic and period points. Must attend at least once for something.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts

star 4.8

Upper West Side, Manhattan · 22,007 reviews

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is one of the most impressive cultural destinations in New York City. The entire complex feels elegant, organized, and full of artistic energy. From the moment you arrive, you can see the iconic plaza with its beautiful fountain, surrounded by world-class venues like the Metropolitan Opera House and David Geffen Hall. What makes Lincoln Center special is not just the performances, but the atmosphere itself. Even if you are not attending a show, it is worth visiting just to walk around, sit by the fountain, and take in the surroundings. The architecture is clean and classic, especially at night when everything is lit up and feels even more vibrant. If you are planning to attend a performance, the experience is very well organized. Entry is smooth, staff are professional, and everything feels high quality. The acoustics inside the halls are excellent, and the seating is designed to give a good view from almost every angle. Whether it is opera, ballet, or a concert, the level of performance here is truly top-tier. Another great aspect is the location. It is easy to reach and close to other parts of the Upper West Side, making it simple to combine your visit with a walk in Central Park or a nearby restaurant. The area feels safe and well maintained, which adds to the overall experience. The only thing to keep in mind is that events can be expensive and the area can get crowded during popular performances. However, even with that, it still feels enjoyable and not overwhelming. Overall, Lincoln Center is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates music, art, or architecture. It offers a perfect mix of culture, design, and atmosphere, making it one of the standout locations in New York City.

Seeing Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre was an unforgettable experience. The theater itself is beautiful, spacious, and well-organized, making it easy to navigate even with large crowds. The seating offers great views from almost every angle, and the acoustics are excellent--you feel completely immersed from the moment the show begins. As for Wicked, it absolutely lives up to the hype. The performances were powerful and emotionally engaging, with standout vocals that gave me chills. The set design, costumes, and special effects were stunning, especially during iconic moments like "Defying Gravity." It's a perfect blend of storytelling, music, and spectacle. The entire experience--from entering the theater to the final curtain call--felt seamless and magical. If you're in New York, this is a must-see show in a fantastic venue. Highly recommend!

Minskoff Theatre

star 4.8

Times Square, Manhattan · 7,430 reviews

The Minskoff Theatre is one of the most modern Broadway venues in terms of technology and audience layout. It's absolutely massive, with a scale that immediately gives it a sense of exclusivity and grandeur. Inside, the theater is beautifully themed around The Lion King, with design elements that immerse you in the world of the show from the moment you walk in. I attended through the Broadway lottery and was lucky enough to get incredible orchestra seats on row 10, right in the center, which turned out to be a perfect vantage point. From that perspective, you can fully appreciate the intricate choreography and the artistry behind the puppetry. The performers skillfully manipulate puppets and props as part of the storytelling, creating a layered and visually rich experience that feels exactly as intended for the audience. The cast is highly professional, with strong emotional presence and connection to their characters. The music stays true to the original Disney production, including songs performed in their original languages and dialects, which adds authenticity and depth. The show runs close to three hours, which might feel a bit long depending on your preference, but for those who truly enjoy theater, it's a complete and rewarding experience. One of the most unique aspects is how the performers move beyond the stage and interact within the theater space, creating a sense of immersion that makes you feel part of the performance. This is definitely a great show to attend with family (children and older adults). The music, orchestra, and overall production quality are impeccable. Highly recommended.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical was absolutely epic, in fact, spectacular from start to finish. I had the incredible experience of seeing it the night Megan Thee Stallion, and she completely stole the moment with a performance of her own music at the end. It was electric. The entire cast was exceptional--high energy, insanely talented, and fully committed. Every scene felt bigger than the last, and the production value is on another level. I went home raving about it for days to friends, family, and coworkers. It's truly a must-see and worth every penny. It also happened to be my birthday, and honestly, I couldn't have picked a better way to spend it. It made the whole night feel that much more special. If you get the chance, go! Upper West Side, Manhattan · 2,179 reviews

The David H. Koch Theater is an impressive venue with grand architecture that feels both solid and timeless. It has a refined and elegant atmosphere. The space is spacious and thoughtfully designed. Seating is well arranged, and from the mezzanine I had a great, unobstructed view of the ballet. It's located right next to the Metropolitan Opera House and there is parking available within the complex, which is very convenient. A helpful tip: arrive early. Entry can be a bit confusing in terms of where to go and how to access different levels, and there are no late seatings, so timing is important. Also, parking is paid via QR code, but there's no signal underground,so make sure to handle that before going down or once you're back upstairs. Overall, it's an elegant and well-organized theater, perfect for enjoying ballet and performances in New York City.

New York Theatre Workshop

East Village, Manhattan · 337 reviews

By chance, I ended up at Saturday Church at New York Theatre Workshop right after finishing a reading of Third Person with a friend, just around the corner. We were lucky enough to grab $25 rush tickets and slipped in just before the show began. From the very first beat, the production was electric. The music, stage design, and choreography pulsed with energy, creating an atmosphere that was both celebratory and deeply moving. The cast radiated presence, and their voices carried a power that made the story soar. The set, with its urban grit and glowing lights, felt like both a sanctuary and a stage for liberation. What struck me most was the empowerment woven into the narrative. You don't need to be Black, Christian, or trans to feel its resonance--the themes of faith, identity, resilience, and chosen family reach far beyond any one community. It's about belonging, and about the strength it takes to carve out your own space in the world. Before leaving, I even picked up the LP as a souvenir--something to carry home with me to Malaysia, and a reminder of a night where theatre, music, and community came together in such a powerful way. Saturday Church is more than a musical; it's a powerful reminder of joy and survival, and of how art can hold space for stories that uplift and transform.

An absolute blast from start to finish This was hands-down one of the most fun nights I've had in a long time. The show was smart, hilarious, and packed with twists that kept everyone guessing the entire time. The cast was incredible, quick-witted, engaging, and perfectly timed with their humor. Every reveal felt earned, and just when you thought you had it figured out, the story flipped on you again. What really stood out was how interactive it was without ever feeling awkward. Laughter all around the room, clever clues, dramatic turns, and just the right amount of chaos to keep things exciting. The pacing was great, the mystery was well thought out, and the energy never dipped. You could tell a ton of effort went into crafting the experience, and it paid off. If you're looking for something different, memorable, and genuinely entertaining, this is a must. We're still talking about it after the fact, and already planning to come back again.
