Hollis Hayden has been a terrific partner in helping my production company make our most recent film. He has excellent communication skills, is very accommodating and a joy to work with. The space he has created is such a special and magical environment to create art. I highly recommend either seeing one of their shows - or to use as a location for a film shoot!

The Irish Rep set the gold standard for how to keep theater alive during the pandemic, and the creativity and innovation of those programming choices continues now that audiences are back. But I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate that they still offer some shows for streaming! Every single person I have ever interacted with at the theater has been an absolute delight, and the variety of programming is wonderful - from classics to comedies to shows that don't immediately hit as Irish but make you think about the culture.

Absolutely hilarious. Even if you don't know or love Shakespeare the show is laugh out loud funny. Combines the best parts of improv, pop culture references, and wacky comedy into one great show. Every seat is a good one. It's only about 3 rows deep and the show is in the round. Drinks are a tiny bit pricey. 4 bacardi and cokes came to about $70 before gratuity. Very par for the course for nyc, but just be aware.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical

Times Square, Manhattan · 5,387 reviews

Moulin Rouge! The Musical was absolutely epic, in fact, spectacular from start to finish. I had the incredible experience of seeing it the night Megan Thee Stallion, and she completely stole the moment with a performance of her own music at the end. It was electric. The entire cast was exceptional--high energy, insanely talented, and fully committed. Every scene felt bigger than the last, and the production value is on another level. I went home raving about it for days to friends, family, and coworkers. It's truly a must-see and worth every penny. It also happened to be my birthday, and honestly, I couldn't have picked a better way to spend it. It made the whole night feel that much more special. If you get the chance, go! You won't regret it.

New York Theatre Workshop

By chance, I ended up at Saturday Church at New York Theatre Workshop right after finishing a reading of Third Person with a friend, just around the corner. We were lucky enough to grab $25 rush tickets and slipped in just before the show began. From the very first beat, the production was electric. The music, stage design, and choreography pulsed with energy, creating an atmosphere that was both celebratory and deeply moving. The cast radiated presence, and their voices carried a power that made the story soar. The set, with its urban grit and glowing lights, felt like both a sanctuary and a stage for liberation. What struck me most was the empowerment woven into the narrative. You don't need to be Black, Christian, or trans to feel its resonance--the themes of faith, identity, resilience, and chosen family reach far beyond any one community. It's about belonging, and about the strength it takes to carve out your own space in the world. Before leaving, I even picked up the LP as a souvenir--something to carry home with me to Malaysia, and a reminder of a night where theatre, music, and community came together in such a powerful way. Saturday Church is more than a musical; it's a powerful reminder of joy and survival, and of how art can hold space for stories that uplift and transform.

When I received free tickets to see "Travels," I did not know what to expect at all! But I'm so glad I took the chance. It was a great performance by all the actors involved. Although the venue wasn't the biggest, it was comfortable and it was nice the staff invited me to sit closer to the front. The two ASL interpreters worked hard throughout the show too. I love that all kinds of mediums were used to convey the different stories from singing, various instruments, subtitle projections, and probably more that I'm forgetting. Overall, great show that the audience will always remember!

First time at the subterranean Manhattan Theatre Club on 55th Street (btwn Sixth and Seventh Avenues) Well organized ushers and ticket box. Seats are comfortable with good views going all the way to the back. We were here to see QUEENS. Excellent ensemble of an all female cast who portray struggles and plight of immigrants from various countries (Honduras, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Belarus) settling in America in a basement apartment in Queens NY. Thank you

What a magical spot. Like a hidden castle in Manhattan; the theater is beautiful, and the backyard is such a nice escape. Gorgeous trees and double floor ceilings. Went to a delicious wine tasting/fundraiser there, hope to be back again, soon!

Now THIS was the definition of a small, intimate comedy theater. The Vino was our landing spot to see Dylan Adler and his comedy set a few months ago and we had a great time. I didn't realize how small and intimate-feeling the theater would be but it works to really witness talent on stage without paying high prices. Seating was cozy and the stage crew did a great job amplifying the performance. The theater itself seemed a bit older than usual and could use some work, particularly the bathroom and perhaps offering some sort of drinks for sale. I know they advertised as BYOB but sometimes a guy forgets when they're getting off the train in Brooklyn and staring at their maps app to find the spot.
